Introduction
A member of Magnum Photos since 1976, her work has radically redefined the boundaries of photojournalism, challenging its aesthetic conventions and ethical assumptions. Far from limiting herself to the extractive practice of traditional reportage, Susan Meiselas inaugurated a collaborative and reflexive approach, incessantly questioning the role of the photographer, the power of the image, and the responsibilities toward the portrayed subjects.
