Introduction
Distant from the conventional fashion photography that marked her beginnings in the 1970s, this image stands as a dreamlike fragment, a tableau vivant where everyday reality is transfigured into an enigma dense with mystery. The photograph captures a seemingly mundane moment, a foot bath, but subverts it through unsettling aesthetic and compositional choices, foremost among them the presence of socks worn in the water.
