Introduction

Paul Outerbridge was an undisputed pioneer of color photography and a master of American modernism. Primarily known for his impeccable geometric still lifes of the 1920s and his controversial, highly refined color nudes of the 1930s, Outerbridge spent the last decade of his life exploring California and Mexico.
