Introduction
Belonging to the celebrated and acclaimed "My Country" series (2016-2020), the work departs from photographic mimesis to become a political manifesto and an ontological investigation into the American landscape and its symbols. As a curator and photographic historian, one is confronted with an image that openly defies the canons of traditional documentary representation, embracing instead an aesthetic of obstruction, erasure, and wounding.
