Introduction
Miroslav Tichý represents one of the most singular, enigmatic, and revolutionary figures in the history of twentieth-century photography. Untethered from any academy, indifferent to the dynamics of the art market, and deeply averse to the technical dictates of the photographic medium, Tichý embodied the pure essence of Art Brut (or Outsider Art) applied to the lens.
