Introduction

Belonging to the celebrated series "The Pursuit of Love", this photograph stands as a sophisticated intersection between contemporary photography, scenographic installation, and Neoclassical painting. During the 1980s, an era dominated by the dictates of Postmodernism and the practice of historical appropriation, Blell decided not to utilize the photographic medium to document phenomenological reality, but rather to construct from scratch and crystallize an aesthetic ideal.
