Introduction
The image appears to the viewer as a luminous vision: a white orchid emerging, with almost sacral symmetry, from an abyssal black background. This is not a mere documentary reproduction or a scientific illustration, but a true "photographic painting" (tableau photographique) the term Brihat himself favored to describe his wall-bound prints.
